Celebrating International Day of the Girl 2020, with the objective of generating conversations via Plan India’s social media pages & by influencers/ key opinion leaders to increase awareness and consciousness in people towards Girls’ Rights in India

Objective: Raising awareness about Girls’ Rights in the country & amplifying #FreeToBeOnline (existing global property) as an extension of this campaign

Recommendation: Create awareness among young fathers, mothers, homemakers, women and men who believe in equal rights, urging them to act as responsible citizens of the world and encouraging conversations surrounding the inequality young girls & women have to face everyday. This was done through amplification of throwback videos & content from past years, content seeding by corporates, Ambassadors and High Commissioners of embassies, influencers and social takeovers by the girl changemakers

Campaign Rollout:
  • Throwback posts (IDG 2018 video, social takeover 2019 video, event album IDG 2019, Twitter Moments video 2019
  • #FreeToBeOnline global video requesting social platforms to support the campaign and urging the audience to sign the petition
  • IDG 2020 video, infographic explaining gender equality data, pre-buzz for social takeovers with diplomatic missions & corporates
